Oh my god I am so excited! I just watched the new trailer (and likely official) for the Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks!

...I now feel immensely bad for doubting it.

Bah, I know my brother's going to laugh at me now that I like it...after saying that I hated it since the first trailer came out. DX

For those of you who don't know, Spirit Tracks is the new Zelda game that's going to be on the DS. At first - in the very first trailer - it looked like a terrible game with graphics that hadn't improved in the slightest bit from Phantom Hourglass (which, admittedly, isn't even in my top twenty favorite games), no plot at all ("Here's an idea! Let's throw Link on a train - that isn't invented yet - in the middle of some new place called Hyrule, and make him a conductor! "), and very...linear - as my friend put it.

Which is actually quite literally seeing as you go on straight tracks it seemed like throughout the whole entire game...

Then came the second trailer: better graphics, showed more of the Phantom (to which I was like WT6F...)...

...still no plotline...

AND THEN THE MOST RECENT TRAILER CAME.

I am so stoked right now! Not only did they improve the graphics and motion once more...but...

THEY FOUND THE PLOT~!

Along with that: the temples/dungeons don't all look the same! That was my biggest issue with Phantom Hourglass; the whole, 'you go into one dungeon. Beat it, and go to another dungeon that looks exactly the same. Let's hope that they keep up this trend and give different music to the dungeons as well...after the third dungeon the themeless dungeon theme got VERY annoying...

First of all, I love it how Zelda actually helps you in the game! At first, I was worried it was going to be just like Phantom Hourglass in the sense that she only appears at the very beginning and end of the game (or hiding in the hull of a ship as a statue...). But no! It actually as a really good plot! A really cute one, too! >w<

Basically (if you havn't watched the trailer yet...why are you reading this?), Zelda's soul gets separated from her body, and thus she is a spirit (as is easily noticable on the European box art, where her color palate is much more faded then Link and the rest of the art). The one thing that I found fudging hilarious cute - although I can already see that it has a good chance of being annoying - is that Zelda controls a Phantom that follows you around in the dungeon; meaning that she is likely to get scared...

...okay, after going through the Temple of the Ocean King in Phantom Hourglass like fifteen times or so, there were two things that I wanted to see: 1) It get hacked to death with my Phantom Sword. And, 2) To see it scream like a little girl. >D I swear, if I didn't know that it was Zelda, I would be laughing my head off throughout the entire game...I still might...maybe I can visualize that Ganondorf in it? XD

Oh dear, I can see how this will lead to many interesting conversations with withnospaces and sunechire...

...sunechire and withnospaces, stop looking at me like that - I'm not going to kill Zelda. It is a Phantom, though...

Moving on (because I'm just wasting space with my piffling...), I'm already really liking the layout of the cutscenes; they almost have a Majora's Mask feel to them. Which is really cool seeing as Majora's Mask is one of my favorite games of all time. I can't really explain how...I think I might go watch the trailer again.

I REALLY want to preorder it now...it comes out on December 7th(!) and I don't want to have to wait to get until January or so...
